PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra on Vista 64 not playing 5.1

Hi Guys

I have recently setup a new PC and after much heartache and pain, managed to get Power DVD on it (another long story). However, its not coming out in DD5.1!?

If I do info in the movie, it says 5.1. If I do the self test in the RealTek control panel app, the amp switches to 5.1 and I can hear each individual speaker when its being tested.

So, for some reason these two components seem to be working great but not talking to each other properly.

Normal stereo is fine and its only connected via SPDIF.

Any ideas?

Im running:

Intel Q6600/4gig ram
onboard RealTek HD chip (most recent drivers from Realtek site)
Vista Ultimate 64 with SP1 (RC1) +any/all updates available
ATI 2600XT (not that this should matter?)

Hi

Not at home at the moment so can't check but, if you are talking about the Audio menu I think you are, all I get asked is how many speakers I am using (i.e. 2,4,6,7,8) and not much else. I did look through last night for an SPDIF option but didn't see one :-(

I had same problem.SPDIF not showing up when changing the sound setting.
Only when there is no disc in drive was i able to select SPDIF.
