I leave it at auto-select. But Hardware Acceleration MUST be Off.

    Thanks Jenz,

Which of the following do you use to complement the DVD software?

YXY , POWERSTRIP or perhaps both,
are they any more i should be looking at?

Just trying to set-up a HCPC to go with my Barco 708 data and i am a complete novice, so any pointers would be gratefully accepted

    Thanks

    Steve

For the Barco 708 you should use a sweet spot of 800x600 and have 2 memory blocks configured.

    Mem Block 1 for Anamorphic
    Mem Block 2 for 4:3

You should make sure you can run your Adapter on the PC at 72 & 75hz at 800x600.

If you can you do not need to use Powerstrip.

If you'd prefer to use one memory block on the Projector then use an Anamorphic one and then use YXY to rescale the non-anamorphic stuff you may have.

    Thanks Jenz,

My video card is a nVIDIA GEForce2 MX 400 AGP, 64meg,

So if I set the desktop to 800x600 x72hz for NTSC and changed it to 75hz for pal, then I would not need powerstrip?
Should I use a Anamorphic test pattern from Avia to size the image? Then use memory block 2 and size that for 4.3 images?

    Would this be correct?

    Sorry for all the question:)

Correct. Powerstrip really comes into its own when you need to have total control over the refresh rate and aspect ratio which I suspect you don't.

For the Anamorphic Mem Block yes. Making sure that the projectors Vertical height is reduced to match the 16x9 image. This is often termed an Anamorphic Squeeze. Its using the full projector raster to show the image.

    Yes correct.

    Regards Jenz.
