    Hi,

    I am going to have a hunt around for a second hand/ex dem power amp.

    Possibly a Rotel RB985, RB 985 MkII or the 1075.

    I was just wondering what each would be worth as I have only seen the 1075 new, so don't have anything to compare against.

    Many thanks for any help given.

    John

    All are good power amps,and the 1075 is the best of the bunch in terms of power and delivery.
    What was the upper limit you wanted to spend.....some of the Parasound amps are well worth a look,and there are often good buys to be had on ebay and exdem.

    Was it definitely a multichannel amp you wanted?

    Be wary here, they are coming from abroad and you could easily get stiffed.

    As for prices:

    RMB1075 = approx £500-£550
    RMB1095 = approx £950-£1000
    985 MkII = approx £325-£400
    985 MKI = approx £300-£340

    RB993 = £400-£550
    RB1070 = £300-£320
    RB1080 = £550-£600

    As Alex says, Parasound is a worthy choice 2nd hand, an older model went on here for a silly price a few weeks ago (£800 I think, and by all accounts the Parasound is far superior to the Rotel 1095).

    Many thanks for the replies.

    I was looking at trying to get a processor and a power amp for £1200.

    I have heard the Rotel RMB 1075 and the 985 MkII as a friend of mine had a demo and bought the 1075.

    Will have to try and listen to the Parasound but at £800 may be just over budget by the time I factor in a processor.

    Cheers

    John
