power amp on side

    can i put my ROTEL RB985mk11 on its side,is there any reason why this might damage it, does anyone currently do this, help missus is moaning :nono:

    The only reason I can think NOT to do this is that with it flat, most of the weight (of transformers, caps, etc) is supported by the chassis underneath, whereas on it's side there will be more twisting forces involved.

    And of course the blue smoke has different accoustic characteristics in capacitors on their side.

    Not forgetting heat dissipation. The hot air will not rise out of the slots, instead it'll rise to the right side/left side.
