    Hello all,

I am moving in 3 weeks and have put the postcode of my new place on the freeview website, and it say that I will be unable to receive freeview signals.

Has anyone else had this problem and then purchased or tested a freeview box and found that they can actual receive pictures?

I am planning on purchasing the pioneer DBR-TF100GB but don't want to be disappointed if I can't get a picture.

The place I am moving in to is rented accommodation, so if the landlord won't let me install a new aerial on the roof, should it need one, can you get a decent indoor one?

    So many questions! :)

    Thanks for all your help,

    James

Don't just rely on the postcode checker. If the aerial's crap you'll struggle. I had to manage with an indoor aerial and booster and it was 'OK' just, but had to constantly fiddle with it. Drove me mad:mad:

I'm hoping that the landlord will be an accomodating man and shall allow me to install an outside aerial if the current one isn't good enough.

Use the postcode checker as a guide only. Minor variations in geography can have a HUGE effect on the quality and strength of signal obtainable from a given transmitter.

A decent local aerial man will be able to be more specific.

According to the post code checker I can't get DTTV.

However I have for over 4 years, so ignore the checker and see which transmitters you can use.

Example Sutton is a digital transmitter so if you can get analogue off Sutton, you can get digital off Sutton

I couldn't get it according to the postcode checker...Was only able to get some channels with a Panasonic box I borrowed...I purchased the Humax FOX-2 and now get all channels with 100% quality....Try it with either the Humax of Philips box which tends to be a bit more sensitive then some of the others...

The postcode checker says I can't get Freeview.
The local tv man says I can't get it.

    It works perfectly.

Best advice is borrow a box and try it :D

Neigbours or local Tv type shop (if they sell digital) should know. A local buisiness wont want you b******* & moaning their goods don't work & should have experience. Ask about, & try one out to be sure. The postcode checker is a guide only.
