Well my screen has clocked up just over 100 hours use since its installation last week so I thought I'd try the DVE disc.
Got to say first impressions of this disc aren't very positive. I sat and listened to all the narrative, sometimes twice so I was absolutely sure of what I was doing.
The settings I ended up with were:
Contrast: +10
Brightness: -10
Colour: +12
Tint: + 6
Sharpness -14
Colour Temp: Mid-Low
DNR: Mid
MPEG NR: Mid
So I thought Id try another DVD, placed LOTR: Return of the King and was very disappointed at how soft and dark the image was.
After some tweaking using various paused images etc I ended up with quite different settings.
Contrast: +25
Brightness: -2
Colour: +9
Tint: +8
Sharpness: -4
Colour Temp: Mid-Low
DNR: Mid
MPEG NR: Mid
Im going to keep tweaking and maybe try the DVE disc again but for the time being Ive found my settings best for me.
So come on all 436/506 owners post your settings here for comparison.
Cheers,
Serkan
