Why do the expensive DVD players have built-in DD/DTS decoders? I don't them!

    I can understand having multi-channel SACD & DVD-Audio- but why DD/DTS?

And I would like a DVD player in black.

Nathan ones of a day when most of the equipment was black it was only the top of the range you had a chose in of either black or silver/gold now all the top of the range is just in one colour. Take a look at the Pioneer surround receivers get above the AX3 and there silver only.
I was going to get the Sony D777 tuner but they not do it in black.

Cheers Fairzo. I looked on avland the other day. Must have been tired like tonight & missed it.
    I to can't understand why you'd have a DTS/DD decoder on board a £900 player.
Maybe the specs are tentative to. Sounds like a nice match for the VSX5 amp though mmmmmmmmmm
Xmas they say OOOooo plenty of time to save lol

Trouble is I was just about set on the 757 before I saw this. Wish things would stay still just a bit longer.

Saw a prototype of this at the recent London Hi Fi and Av show at Heathrow.

Was connected to the latest high end Pioneer Plasma via direct digital. All Plasma procesing is in the digital domain so the only D/A conversion was in the pixel!!

Image on Pal Progressive was outstanding, crisp and clear. Of course, they werre showing animation. I would have been intyerested in seeing film based material. I'm sure it would have been stunning.
