    Hey all

Is there a way to playback HD-DVD from a PC file?

Not talking about the samples and trailers here but a full film.

    Special codec needed?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Sorry, I obviously gave the wrong impression by sending a PM.

As far as I am aware there is no way to playback an HD-DVD ripped to your hard disk. It is possible to playback HD material from your PC but that is something different of course :)

I guess (and it could be a long shot) it is just a matter of time before Daemon Tools or PowerISO or some other Virtual Drive software can open HD-DVD / Blue Ray disc images?

If it is screen capture then that is just a poor substitiute. All that happens is the DVD software is displaying the decoded picture and pressing capture image to try to capture each single frame. The encryption as it is different SD DVD hasn't been broken yet.
