    Hi,
Can anyone please advise whether it is possible to rip a CD to a hard drive in WMA format and then play it using a digital spdif connection to an amp? Or do you have to use analogue outputs on a soundcard?

    Cheers,
    Andy.

It is possible, although I'm unsure of whether it's hardware dependant

My motherboard has integrated SPDIF and it passes *all* audio through to my amp :)

Should work with any soundcard or motherboard that supports PCM audio over SPDIF (which is all of them as far as I'm aware).
