A long shot I know, but is there any way of converting a Phillips DVDR75 so that it can do both + and - ??

I plunged for DVDR75 with +RW, but now have a requirement to record stuff so playable via portable -R player

I wasn't sure if there was any sort of crack / mod that could be done

    Thanks
    Pete

Afraid not. Your stuck with DVD+RW and DVD+R. You may find that DVD+R plays on your portable. Although it has significantly less compatibility than DVD-R it does play on many DVD players.

If you have a PC DVD burner you could always use DVD Decrypter to extract your DVD+RW/+R and then burn to DVD-RW/-R.

    Thanks for the reply.
Problem solved - I tried the Phillips + recording in the - playing Venturer portable & it worked OK - without any finalizing.
Quality not as good as a bought DVD, but it'll do for a 6-year old

    Thanks
    Pete
