I have buried a 50mm plastic pipe in the wall as a way of tidying my cable runs from the tv above the fireplace to the amp, its approx 1m long.

Initially I will probably have 2 scart cables (one maybe an rgb to vga), and the cabling for the 3 front speakes.

Is there going to be any possibility of interference that may affect picture quality / sound with the cables being close together? Will buying good quality cables make a difference?

They should be OK but to be on the safe side you should make sure that the cables are all individually screened. It is mainly power cables that don't mix with other types.
