Kinda old news, but yeah, very much looking forward to this. Of course, I need to learn how to play first. :)

That will go down well with the press. 'Kids playing poker on children's toy' or whatever it is the Daily Mail like to say.

Didnt know it was old news, sorry about that:)

That'll be about right

Cant read the link. But as far as free goes, well, it will be free for one month.

This could be good for a laugh to finish off after a night of something else first. A few games with drinks late on a saturday night would go down a treat:D

I was hoping for a simplified version of the rules. i.e all reds, all blacks, all pictures, all odd, evens etc.

Wonder if they'll make it more "interesting" by letting you gamble ms points? Probably a very bad idea though... ;)

I think it would a reasonably good idea on limit games (say 20 points per raise). Playing no limit games would be silly thou.

Saying that I cant see it ever happening.

Nah, neither can I - there really would be an outrage if the press got wind of kids being able to gamble... they'd have to come up with a foolproof way of validating your age or something first...

As much as I love poker, without the risk reward element of having some cash value at stake it quickly becomes boring.

I guess playing for your place on the online leaderboards might add back some interest.

However much I wouldnt mind playing for cash, I doubt I would anyway. I love playing for the fun of it.

Plus I would want to risk loseing any real money:eek:

How about playing with our gamerscore points then! That would definitely bring in the risk/reward element - you could go from hero to zero in one night

yeah poker doesn't work unfortunatly without something on the line. Doesn't neccessarily have to be real money but it has to be something. Otherwise people don't play properlly. The bluffing aspect of poker totally disapears as people call most things when there isn't anything on the line.

We used to play for MMORPG currency when our game server went down. That way everyone was risking game money that would take about 30 mins to get. So the game still had value but it didn't really matter if you lost.

I really enjoy poker but I'm not very good.

Well if we were playing for gamerpoints I'd have to fold with you at the table - too rich for me :D

Can't complain about a free game though. If you wish to play poker almost properly for free try one of the freeroll events online. The first few mins of the game are silly with people going all in on nothing but after the first 5 mins there can be a few hours of good intelligent and fun poker. Most of the sites will give you real money for finishing really high (not very much though generally)

www.pokerchamps.com have a free roll every hour. 1500 people enter and the top 28 win a dollar, 3rd wins 2, second wins 3 and 1st wins 5. You can then use that money and play for real money online on the low 2/4 cent tables. It's all great practice before playing poker for proper money. I've finished top 10 about 5 times or so but unfortunately my best was 4th.

Some sites have big free rolls once a week or so, look around, lots of fun to be had for nothing. This is something that will stay on the pc though for me I think.

I was thinking about getting into bonus whoring on poker. As I've made a few thousand bonus whoring casinos. Poker whoring takes more skill though so I'd spent a couple of hours a day playing for a few weeks and done some reading. But then my 360 arrived and I got hooked playing that so I've not played poker for ages.

I'm sure next time I really want something like sky Hd or a HD-DVD player or a new PC. I'll get back into making money with casinos and poker. I don't enjoy the casino whoring though, I either find it really boring or really stressful, so I really need an incentive to do it. Like something I really want or a scary overdraft to clear. The casinos cleared my overdraft and brought me the 360.

I've done something similar on odd occasions in the past with introductory offers to online gaming/betting sites and been pretty chuffed with myself but I don't think I could be bothered to make that sort of money out of it... don't have the time... and besides that's what plastic was invented for  :suicide:

Yeah thats exactly what I did, just with ALOT of casino sites. I only made about 1000 from about 15 or so sites last time. It's not as easy as it used to be.

Doesn't it get harder to do the longer you do it though? (left myself wide open with that one ;) ) Surely you must already have accounts with most of the sites by now? £1000 is a good return though - makes up for the tedium of trying to safely "cash in" your ill-gotten gains ;)

depends on your stamina ;-)

Yes it does. I firstly did it a couple of years ago and made a few thousand. Because it had been so long I felt pretty confident just doing the same casinos again and had no problem.

I could still make about another 1000 I think without to much issue but after that then the number of casinos with good offers starts to run out. Lots of the casinos have monthly offers though so you could still make a few hundred pounds a month for only a few hours hours work even once you are out of new offers.

A few years ago there was tedium getting the money but now there is plenty of sites where you can play in pounds and with either a debit card or useing an online pay site. The only tedium was keeping track of so many sites but it wasn't a problem with a simple spreadsheet.

Poker bonus whoring doesn't have the same issue with running out of offers though, the sites aren't losing money to you. But of course even with the bonus's you have to be reasonably competant at poker. I never quite got to the stage where I was happy enough with my play to do it. If you can break even playing poker then the bonus's will make you alot. But there is plenty more risk here than with the casinos. Poker is a high varience game and blackjack isn't really.

Yeah but you don't have to - mummy and daddy could buy a Live pack from Game for little Johnny and a points scratch card for him to gamble with too :(

Yes they could, but the fact that a CC is registered, WOULD be proof of age, that is what I was getting at...
