Positioning Rear Speakers?

Hi, I have just ordered some M7DS Mission Rear speakers but I don't have room behind the Sofa. Does anyone know if you can put them up in each of the top corners where the wall meets the ceiling? This is the only place behind me I can possibly put them.

They would be better about 12" - 18" down from the ceiling and not right in the corner. I have mine on the side walls about 18" from where they meet the rear wall.
