What are you wanting to record and under what circumstances ?

The Archos PVR range might be of use.

I video soccer matches and have to produce several VHS videos each game but I have been asked if it is possible to have a DVD at the end of each match.

I could have a normal DVD recorder and leave this with our system on the gantry but was wondering if there was a portable one handy enough to slip in a holdall that I can carry up and down the ladders and take to away games.

    Thanks,

    Martin

Then a laptop might be the way to go.

Its not expensive to get a decent one these days.

I've just bought an Acer Travelmate with dual layer DVD writing for a shade over £500 !

Only had 256MB RAM but sorted that for £49 with an additional 512MB.

Thanks MJM I must admit that a PC had crossed my mind but just wondered if any portables had hit the market yet.

do any of the small dvd camcorders out there have a video audio in? This may be one way round it depending on the capaciuty required for a match.

Thanks Pete, I had given that some thought, but I believe due to the smaller discs, to get at the very least 90 minutes if not the usual 100 minutes taking into account added time, I'm not sure what quality one would get as the amount of data at level 2 is only approx 60 minutes plus I believe from reading forums like this there is a compatibility problem even more so than the usual with these camcorder discs but I stand to be corrected.

    Regards,

    Martin
