My boss has one and every day kicks himself for not buying an Audi Q7. The Audi is by far and away the better vehicle.

The Cayenne is incredibly ugly, go for a Range Rover.

it was the Vogue i also tried the disco. i think its because im used to either driving my defender or my skyline both have hard suspension. i love being up high in my 90 but even though its the xs defender its a bit basic so i would like a little more comfort

He has the Cayenne S. I would also say that the Audi is more exclusive than the Range Rover.

If you want something that large, the Q7 is a superbly built car and very nice to drive, but the petrol version is very greedy(I suppose most big 4x4s are though).
There were rumours of the 5L V10 TDi being put into it eventually, but I havent heard any more on that recently.

The Cayenne is almost a rebadged Touareg, but unfortunately looks like a startled hippo.

To be honest I have not decided yet, we are still looking around.

My friend has the V10 Touraeg and it is a lovely car.

i bought from a main dealer. i thought i would get a better standard of service but i have to say landrover suck. its been in twice to have the head lining replaced because its sagged, i told them it needed changing but they said no its fine just came away from its fixing. its been back a grand total of 1 day & its coming away again so its booked to go back again. also i paid £640 for a service this week it came back with some kind of fluid spilt all over the engine bay & they never even washed the car! when i had a bmw it went in to have the battery changed & came back spotless inside & out.

Although I've never drove one I love the Cayenne, I think the Q7 is just plain weird and an ugly creation by Audis standards, it looks like someones shoved grilles, lights and badges up there nos and sneezed them onto the front.

I do like to be different though thats maybe why I like the Cayenne.

Has the OP considered an X5?

i did give the x5 some thought i havent driven one yet so i dont know how they handle. i realise it be wont be like a car but as long as you dont feel like your at sea i dont mind.wow i didnt think it would be so hard to find a replacement for a defender

Fantastic company, I work next door to their Farnham site.

They turn out some stunning vehicles with enough BHP to stop the world spinning.:D

The X5's are seriously impressive onroad - the Range Rover Sport was designed to take on the X5 (as is the Cayenne). The big V8s go like the proverbial off a stick. And if you want economy there is 3.0 litre diesel.

You'll probably get a better deal on one as there are so many more about than the Cayenne, and they're about to be replaced this year.

Either car will get the greenies hating you and you'll need to get used to people not letting you out of side roads ;)

In some ways I like the Cayenne just because of its plug ugly appearance and the fact that it upsets the eco warriors big time. :D

I went for a spin in one at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year. Porsche were whizzing people around a field as a demo of the car's abilities. Needless to say I was suitably impressed. It really is the world's fastest offroad vehicle. Amazing feeling doing 180 degree power slides off road at 60-70 miles an hour:D
