Hi Steve thanks for the quick reply.
Did you use yours for 3D movies?
Will it play full blu ray ISO with menus 3D & 2D etc?
Did you try make MKV 3D MVC files?

Sorry for all questions but I am looking for a device to save my blu ray disc from getting destroyed by the kids and this looks perfect.

Evening I have been researching the a-400 and it doesn't look like a it will play full 3D mkv rips which is a deal breaker for me.

A fair bit of googling shows a Rasperry Pi might do what I need but when I search amazon it's just a circuit board?

Anyway thanks for your help earlier and "Just Slackin'" your ok with me to agree a deal with Steve.

Thanks mate. Can I just check one thing. From the A-400 wiki it suggests that SSD has limited use. It might be out of date though.

    A-400 Compatibility Lists - NMTWiki

Do you have NMT apps installed? If not then is it possible to use a USB stick (for NMT apps) at the same time as the SSD?

If the PCH has problems with SSDs (issues with trim etc) then I'd possibly be better buying without a drive.

Honest answer, I have had no issues using the SSD and I also had a 1 TB (Toshiba) external usb drive connected to and was able to play from both without any issues.

I am no media expert but this unit has played what ever format I chucked at it without any issues. But I mainly play films and music.

I'll leave it up to you to decide.

    Thanks Steve

Cheers mate. How do you get files onto the SSD? Expected to set up as a share then copy files over network but think you'd need NMT apps for that.

Still keen but think I need to do some reading.

I am pretty sure you can setup both ftp and windows network shares but for me the easiest way was to use one of these cables.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MasterStor-USB-2-0-to-SATA-Serial-ATA-Adapter-Cable-For-Laptop-Hard-Drive/302072137661?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20150313114020&meid=0217bf62684a4bcbbc450db136187aa7&pid=100338&rk=1&rkt=30&mehot=pp&sd=302006187219

The Hdd tray slips out in seconds with the turn of a key. Once you have loaded up the SSD drive you should have plenty media to keep you going for ages.
