This could be just a mad thought, but I want to install my AE500 in the ceiling - literally, and have it pop-down when in use. Has anyone seen anything like this?

    Yes they do.

I think I saw one on NexNix web site for £695. Its a lift that allows you to drop the lift from a remote control. They used to cost in excess of £2000 but this was only £695.

You'll need about 2ft above the void where the lift drops down from however.

    Cheers

tonetrainer, I've looked over the site and cannot find anything do you have a link?

wes2008 - sweet. It's just a little too large for my ceiling void.

No probs for the links always keen to help out - I had a couple of these in my favourites from when our house was being built but the void between the floors was only 5 inches odd and blew these idea's out!

That mirror ceiling mount is outstanding isn't it!

I was telling my girlie about it even she was very impressed but as you say there must be an issue with heat build up. I guess you could say the room above would have under floor heating!
