I've just fitted a sky magic eye onto my upstairs tv and ran a cable from the back of the sky+ hd box downstairs.

I do not have any other aerial plugged into the back of either tv or the sky box.

The reception on the upstairs tv is grainy. I have it set at channel 25 on the rf output, but tbh it's the same on all the channels that I have tried up to now.

Am I just going to have to put up with it?

I am in hull if that matters?

    Cheers

Forgive me, but are you aware that the Magic Eye is used only to send back information to the Sky box?

(Lots of people think it sends the picture to the remote tv.)

So, suggest you start without the Magic Eye and see if you get a decent picture.

If not, change channels on both RF2 o/p and remote tv until you find a clear channel.

Assuming you find one, then add in the Magic Eye.

If not, suspect the extension cable.

Please come back if you require further information.

    It certainly does!

As you don't have an aerial connected it doesn't matter for the problem, but it IS interesting.:D
If you did have an aerial it would matter a lot as 25 is a Freeview channel there, which is also here.;)
Try channel numbers in the forties, and check the connections on the cable.
T G's point is that you don't get "reception with magic eye", you get it with the cable.

It's really us who should be posting it - maybe we should take it in turns?;)
