Poor picture quality

Hi All

Does anyone have any issues with the picture quality of the sky sports channels through Telewest?

My picture quality on sky sports is really poor, it keeps going kind of out of focus. One minute it is fine, usual standard digital tv picture, then it suddenly change and become really poor, almost like a really old analogue picture. You can notice it in the quality of the picture itself and by the Sky Sports logo in the corner of the screen. It changes like this regularly, like every few seconds and is very annoying.

This problem is the same on standard STB and through TV Drive, and on two different televisions.

I have reported this once already. An engineer came out, spent ages gawping at High Definition on TV Drive then said the problem is down to the pictures broadcast by sky. He said if it was down to the feed from Telewest or a problem with my set up, it would happen on all channels.

Anyone else have a similar problem, or any ideas?

Blimey i wrote a post word for word not so long ago, i phone tw all the time and they tell me something different every time lies lies lies thats all they do but now im on to the network people so i might get somewhere ill let you know.

At this precise moment sky sports 1 is fine not going blurry at all but i dont know how long it will last but on the other hand sky sports 2 is still doing it.
will phone the network people to see if they have done anything.

Same here. I noticed that last night (Thursday 10th) Sky Sports 1 was fine, but Sky Sports 2 still playing up!

just had tw round and it was suposed to be network people but it was not it was yet another engineer but he did say he would pass it on to the network people and they would phone me on monday.

Sounds like TW don't give a hoot about the problem. Just keep trying to fob people off. I get the impression they don't care much for the carrying of Sky channels. I think they want to keep developing and promoting their own set of channels, the Flextech "arm" of the company - i.e. the sh*t womens channels like Living TV.

BTW - Watching bits of the cricket on Sky Sports 1 today and picture was fine again. But the footie on Sky Sports 2 was still horrendous - still blurring all the time. If they have done something to Sky Sports 1, I wish they'd do it to 2 as well!

I noticed this on the footy on SSP2 for the first time yesterday. The network people won't be able to do anything about it as it does not seem to be specific to your area.
I can make sure that the right people are made aware of it.

Thanks for this Buffalo2102, would be great if you can get it sorted. At the moment, it only seems to be SS2, SS1 seems okay now - don't know if something has already been done on this channel.

Had a look at it this afternoon and it doesn't seem to be happening any more. Will keep an eye on it.
