    Hi
When ever I try the pictures look blocky; even when just connected to the
computer prior to capture the view screen on the compter the picture is not
very good infact it's poor. Panning simply produces squares on smooth edges.
    What am I doing wrong?

Jeez, there's a million possibilities for this one. Are you capturing to a dedicated HDD? Is it DMA enabled? Is your firewire card sharing an IRQ with something? Is it in the slot next to your AGP? Your system is well up to spec for NLE, so there has to be a problem with the configuration of it.
