Poor FM reception Ford Focus 99

Hello All

Hope ive posted in the right place!

I have a ford focus 99 reg but the FM ariel reception is very bad since removing the offical Ford headunit.

Is this a common fualt? if I get an amplified ariel will this make much differance?

Hi

Make sure that you have the switched output wire on your old radio connector connected to the blue wire on your new head unit.

This pin powers the antenna amplifier which is mounted in your roof lining.

I think it is pin 7 on the power connector.

What's in place of the Ford Unit?

I put a 9812rb into my 99 Focus and just plugged in the aerial as it came out of the OE unit and reception is fine, I'd get the new HU out and check connections.
