    Hi,

Anyone know if this film was ever released on DVD? I have it on video, and it's still one of my favourite films...I'd like to replace it with the DVD version if there is one.

    Cheers,

    Clive G

AFAIK it has never been released in the UK...No idea why.
Although I heard it was released and quickly withdrawn a few years ago but I never saw it and I kept tabs on it for a while.

I eventually went for the R1 version and I think that is now OOP.

It was released on R2 in other territories and pops up on ebay quite often (watch out for pirate copies!) and is probably your best bet.

yeah, i got the R1 pretty cheaply, it's not out on R2 though for some reason, i reckon it'd be a big seller. You can get the R1 from dvdsoon for about £7 and from dvdboxoffice for about £9

I can't remember which internet shop I saw it in, but they had exclusive stock of poltergeist region 2 UK version! Mind you that was several months ago now. I considered buying it myself but with only Dolby Digital 2.0 sound I decided to wait until a special edition is released, whenever that maybe.

Does the region 1 you're talking about have 5.1 sound?

I never said it was bad, just grainy (could do with some restoration), although it's much better than the VHS version.
    Yes it's 5.1 and a good re-mix too.

I have the Warner, snapper case version.

Warners are revisiting this title as we speak - look out for a new SE.

Cliveg FOPP is the name of a muic store chain. Not sure if it stands for anything - but they are good and cheap, loadsa CDs for £5 and DVDs for £7! I've seen one in London and Nottingham. Check their website for other locations.

    Cheers
