Hi Peeps,

due to lack of space, is there any point fitting rear speakers which are angled diagonally down from the celing corners rather than the prefered behind at ear level?

or should I go with something like the Yamaha fake surround sound one speaker thingy

How about a couple of Bi-Polar speakers on the side wall, couple of feet back from rear wall and above ear level.

didnt think of that, they'd probably still be max 1 foot from the rear wall???

get a pair of normal directional speakers (ie bookshelfs or floorstanders) and put them facing your ears on the side walls if you can......that will actually give you a fairly accurate surround sound field......even tho there is no space behind you as such, you will swear you hear stuff behind you....heh..i used to have mine setup like this...

i wouldnt necessarily advise using bi/di-polar speakers in this scenario, sound could get a little muddled possibly.....but then again it depends on teh speakers, it might sound good....as always try and demo both.....but i am thinking the normal stereo pair will work better, facing directly at your ears from the side wall....
