I'm looking at the usual suspects

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P120 - No fan of Sony stuff everything I've ever had has been a bit crappy and unreliable - but seems very well rated

Canon Digital Ixus -though put off by the "E18" error reports

    Casio Exilim EX-Z40DDA

    Pentax Optio

    Olympus mju's

Sorry this is all a bit non-specific, but if anyone could shed any light or point out any other likely contenders it'd be much appreciated. Budget up to about £250

http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/photography/digital-cameras/224537/details not able to find a review as its not been out long, but the s range is a really good http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Pentax/pentax_optios5i.asp

They are two very good point and shoot cameras, sony are making some great digital cameras now to. You'd be happy with any of them, but for me id go with the optio S5.

An other point to take into consideration is, Sony do their own memory which can be dearer then other brands.

Garrett - Yeah knew that about the memory stick thing, but thanks anyway. Another reason to feed my anti-Sony prejudice but I feel myself weakening with the Sony. Does look a cracking product.

Jayde - looks a nice piece of kit but not really point and shoot? Although they do make this one too -
