This is the first Podcast I've watched / listened to. Excellent!

Phil Hinton, Ed Selley and Steve Withers,

Just curious to find out about your dedicated home cinema set up- what kit do you have in your room, what size is your room, who did the install (DIY or a specialised company (any company recommendations?)), are your rooms soundproofed (room within a room?). Have you already gone through this before, please send me a link to the page(s). If not can you create a few pages to go over your setups?

Thanks.

That Hisense soundbar is going to be the number one present for aged/hard-of-hearing parents & grandparents this Xmas. £99 makes the rest of the 2.0 competition look a bit silly.

Sky Glass looks like a great proposition if you're bought into the Sky model. No dish, all the streaming & catch-up and you can buy the telly in the same way you buy your mobile phone. Hope you can get one in for review, as TP Vision/Philips LCDs have been firing out some decent budget sets recently.

Another great pod. I feel obliged to point out that Netflix stuff can still be watched weekly, just because it’s all there doesn’t mean you need to view it as fast as possible.

I know but we're weak-willed. I started Squid Game (in the original Korean with subtitles) last night, and I'm really enjoying it.

Thanks gents for this week's edition of the Shopping Channel at the start.

Look forward to the next discussion on sub-woofers and in particular the best software.

With regards to binge watching, sometimes it's the only way to avoid spoilers from friends, work colleagues or the media. We tend to binge watch most series now, even if it's a weekly release and threaten anyone who tries to tell us the plot as we wait for an entire series to be screened until viewing it. That way we can keep on top of the plot and if there is a cliff-hanger at the end of an episode, we can start watching the next episode immediately.

Re Sky Glass, IMHO I believe that a small streaming box/hdmi stick will be the best option in the future.

thanks for another excellent Podcast. I am also done with going to Cinema. Happy with my home set up and like the fact we can rent movies at general release date.

Hi Steve,

Check out the accompanying FOUNDATION Podcast from Apple. Made by Apple and with the Creator of Foundation. Includes high resolution audio samples from the show.

SQUID GAME is awesome and unpredictable. Genius.

As I've always said, soundbars either need to do everything ie Atmos and rear channels, or just do a decent job with 2.0 or 2.1. An expensive 2.0 soundbar like the Denon is DOA and utterly pointless imo.

@Phil Hinton I was the same in regard to Squid Game in dubbed mode. Was too tired and didn't have the faculties to read subs at the time. But after the "talkie episode" ie E02, it was truly awful to listen to, and like many dubbed films it did it a huge disservice.

Sky glass is just a exercise to get more subscribers, when my subs run out i am off, barely watch any sky originals anymore, netflix, prime and disney +.

@Steve Withers - will you be reviewing the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar (hopefully with extra Sub + Sats)?

For the streaming TV Show releases, I generally prefer the week by week model, mainly as I don't really get a good run at watching much of anything so only watch at max an episode or two of an evening and even then I often get a few episodes in and then stall a bit. I'm currently two episodes behind on "Only Murders in the Building" and it took me a week and a half to watch the final episode of "What If...?".

I'm going to try and see any key soundbars that I've missed so far before Christmas.

Stick with Only Murders... it's my favourite show at the moment.
