Thanks so much for this!

Damn, never read a single review on PMC that was negative...

Thanks for the review Ed, any chance you might be getting some Twenty5 23's in for review?

I've had to discount stand mounts as with my cats they would probably end up on the floor...

I'll help you with that review if you like as I own 25-23s. I can do one or ask all you like. I can definelty agree with eds comments on smoothness complemented with a sweet top end, which definetly resonates as a chatacteristic of my twenty5 23s. In comparison with the twenty series the usual things that are bandied about with this pmc series is better mid range capability and a punchier more deep bass, with better detail and dynamics. Quite a bit better than twenty series.

Regarding placement, the reviewer says that the speakers should be toed in so they cross a meter and a half behind the listener and that they are not sensitive to rear and side walls, however, would this be true of the wall behind the listener?

I am considering the nice small floor standing twenty5.23s but positioning is a real worry.

In my case I have to listen across the short side of the room, I suspect that this speaker design would not really be suitable :-(

They are very flexible where placed. I've tried my 25-23s near the wall and away from it just for the hell of it, and it really wasn't much different in sq. I knew they would be away from the wall as I have space (see attached picture). Also forward firing atl helps I guess to prevent any bass boom from rear ported speakers.

I'd get a Qx card in your pre2dac if I were you at some stage, to hike the detail levels up if you decide on 25-23s

Dolby, I think the stands are the same across the range as the ones on pmcs website for the twenty series look the same stands on the 25-21s in the twenty5 series product pics.

All listening was undertaken in a room where the rear wall is 30-35cm from the back of my head. It should be fine.

Mine is similar about 35 to 40 cm from back wall. Speakers are about 30-40 cm from other wall. Absolutely fine.
