    Hi,

Am I right in thinking these are exactly the same soundwise as the TB2+ speaker, and that the only difference is they are not finished in wood?

I'm guessing these would be superior speakers to the DB1+?

Finally, what is a decent price for a second hand set? (With and without stands)

    Thanks for your help!

Yes they are the same apart from the finish. I would imagine they are a step up from the DB1+'s but not sure how much as I've never heard them. As for price, I sold mine for £350 with the stands which was quite a bargain :D.

Superior? Yes and no. Yes, they're more dynamic a touch easier to drive and have slightly deeper bass, but the DB1s are a bit easier to accomodate close to a wall and handle female vocal with a bit less 'chestiness'.

For most people, it's still going to be yes.

TB2S+ versions for £350 plus stands??? Wow Stevie. Is that really what they go for, or is that a very good deal

Russ, I'm also considering the GB1 and GB1i. Do you have any experience with these compared the to TB2+?

    Thanks,
    J

I listened to some TB1s when I was demoing speakers a year or so ago. Was very impressed with the sound from them. In the end I went for GBs at the front and DBs for the rears. The reason I did not go for the TBs is I wanted floor standers at the front and to match the sound of the TBs at the rear I would have needed FBs at the front (did not have the budget for that kind of upgrade). You should definately get some good deals on the + models now that the i model is out.
