    Hi Guys

is it possible to use an old Sky+ box as a freeview decoder and get the PLUS functionality turned on?

Im only going to be able to see the Astra Satelites for another five months (Am i right? Im moving to China?) so I don't think its worth subscribing for a year to a Sky package which would cost a fortune as I won't have a phone line either.

(I still have my original card and plus box from when i lived in the UK - currently in Germany-, well past its minimum contract of 12 months)

    Many thanks!

If you pay £10 a month you can have the record functionality, but I fear that Sky will probably want to tie you in to a 12-month contract initially, but it's worth a try to ask them.

Ahh ok thanks for the info! Don't mind paying 12months of 10 nuggets, thats cheap, it was the 40 sub+no phone line fee+plus for 12 months i don't want to pay!

    Cheers :)
