    Hi All

Why is it that when the man wants to buy a plasma, we always have to beg (Do the ironing, hoover, wash-up, shopping, have babies) the missus to get one.

When they finally agree and you go and buy one, they spend more time wathing it than what we do.

    Can't win

    Anyone in a similar situation?

    Michael

I must remember not to get married. Visiting girlfriends enjoy a big plasma and decent HT system. The impression I get is that as soon as she moves in and the ring is on, she wants minimal (rather than minimalist) kit, no wires and no intrusion into the living space.

    and a dull pedestrian mpv

    and children

trying not to sound sexist as I know there are several keen female forum members. perhaps I should marry one of them. Any offers ? It really is a very nice plasma....

Well my husband is quite used to my love of technology and is resigned to the fact that he won't get any peace until I get what I want. All I have to do is convince him that we have the money and perform a few extra favours. ;)

It's great. He earns the money and I spend it.

What a lot of sad people! Lisa, Teresa, I think you two and my wife would get along nicely! Gail loves to play with the toys, check the news and weather on the iPronto with her cup of tea in the morning, sainsburys to you on the plasma with her tablet PC via wireless card, you guys really need to get your other halves/girlfriends educated!
    Conversation in our house:-
'Would you like me to puts some speakers at the end of the garden, and wi fi control the music, dear?'
'Oh yes that will be lovely, will it be done when I get home?'

Guess I'm lucky too :). My wife loves our boys toys (just got her a sat nav which she's thrilled with).

She's keen on getting a plasma, too - but she can't work out why a £2,500 plasma should end up costing about £6,000 (well, if you've got a nice screen you need a nice AV amp, like the Arcam 250, and you'll need a nice DVD player, like an Arcam, and some decent speakers, like M+Ks or Gallos (Due centre/a'Divas L&R/Micros rear), and you'll need decent cables and connects, and you'll need a remote. And a pivoting wall bracket. And a JS converter for SKY. And might as well chuck in a cheap DVD-recorder for archiving. And a unit to stick it all in).

Still, girls are no good at maths, are they? [Ducks for cover]

You'd better duck for cover. I've got two Maths A levels and a degree in Physics.

Mind you my maths skills have somewhat dimished over the years since I graduated.

    Sulis,

Get her to programme in my address into the new sat nav and I will show you both why you need A'Diva's all round (with a Due as centre) - OK just kidding, biggish room here. Despite an S level at maths (that ages me) my missus is way better at the budgeting!

suppose Im the lucky one. it was my girlfriend that suggested gettin a plasma as a "spacesaver" (I would have been happy with a desent crt), so after some research on this forum, I went back with a rough price & she offered to pay for it

Downside is all the work I gotta do to get the "look" right....

but Im not gonna whinge about that :D

My Mrs is great, she talked me into a 42" from a 37"...

She's now asking if we can have a 7" widescreen in the bathroom wall, she can then have a nice relaxing bath whilst watching ER

It was the watching, er.... that made me do it. Just what will you be watching?

I did this in a client's the other day, talking about a plasma in the bedroom, asked in all innocence what they would be watching! I meant would they be having a 2nd sky box, or would freeview do. Lady went a bit funny, wasn't till my biz partner pointed out the error of my ways I twigged.
