I have been trolling this site for a long time now whilst the prices of plasma televisions have dropped.

I am now ready to purchase one and have set a buget of 1200 pounds - no more.

Could some kind person please suggest any suitable models around 1000-1200 pounds.

It must come with a tabletop stand and be able to accept svhs (from dvd) and at least one scart (sky).

I am not after picture perfect videophile quality and appreciate that the picture will not be as good as higher priced ones.

I just want one to enjoy dvds.

    Many thanks in advance.

I'm in the same position. The PDW7 is tempting me. I'm just wondering if it's may be better to wait until HD comes down or will the HD Sky subscription be a lot higher? Is it therefore better to forget HD for all but videophiles for a while?

trolling is posting often extreme views on forums to deliberately wind up other members and cause arguments.......you should check out general chat here :)

agreed 100% and i only owned mine for 2 weeks  and im not that bothered about HD at the minute as im waiting for a greater leap in resolution and more widepsread broadcast material dvd material and gaming etc, besides that your gonna be lucky to get any decent HD panel below 2 grand from what i know.

PW7 all the way... decided last week on the offer one as advertised on the forum... now I don't know how I waited so long :D

I used to have a 36" Sony 100htz CRT... I swear on sky (RGB) the picture is just as good, especially when you're sitting approx 10ft from the screen.

also if you like sports & football especially... I personally don't think anything else comes close to the panny's.... look at other threads...

    good luck.
