Thanks- But will they go OK with canton cd 1 speakers? What about thye yamaha SL100, are they OK with Canton CD 1 speakers.
Tha canton sub is rated 100 watts while the satellites are 80watts each. I read somewhere that a higher spec amp is better for a speaker than one which is lower powered-=is this true?

dont worry about AMP ratings....they are nonsense marketing BS (SUB is active so has its own AMP) loads of people are using 402 and 501/2 with Cantons Panasonic do some silver SLim amps but never heard the Yammy so cant comment....

What about the Panasonic SAXR50 or SAXR70 receivers?

The SAXR70 is available for around £320.

Not sure if black version available in UK.

Thanks, but I have already ordered the speakers. I am narrowing my search to Pioneer 501, panasonic sa-xr70, and sony str-lv700r, but its not been easy to make a final decision. I will definitely appreciate advice from experienced people here.

Best advice would be to find an AV Receiver you like the sound of when partnered with your Canton loudspeakers - if its slim line your troubles are over; if its not hide it away and use an IR extender.

No matter how good it looks in your room if you cant find a slim line unit that sounds good with your speakers you're not going to enjoy your system.

    Best regards

    Joe
