Ewoody,

I would say you can't beat the Lumagen vision DVI, it will do everything you need and do it very well.

The first problem will be finding one for sale the second problem will be getting one at that sort of money.

I have just recently bought one on these forums but the misses is moaning that it has the made the setup too complicated with another remote   so I might be reselling this great bit of kit :( :(

Can I ask if the Mrs noticed the difference with/without the Lummie ?

Yes they did notice the difference in picture quality - but hey I just do as I'm told.

I have put the Lumagen up for sale in these forums.

Will the Vision DVI scale 1080i outputs (with HDCP) to 720p happily ?

Im on a limited budget at the mo and Im wondering whether I could get one until I have more cash or I should be looking at a HDP etc for my Sky-HD and HD-DVD

Yes it will scale it but no per-pixel deinterlacing (I guess this means it does a simple bob on 1080i sources). You need the HDP or HDQ for that I believe.

Thanks, in real terms though will that still give a noticeable improvement over the internal scalers in my existing devices or should i hold out for the HDP ?

Ok, a little reading has answered my question. Looks like the HDP at a minimum then.
Time to save some pennies

Thanks
