i love nintendo but im scared theyre gona disappear like sega.
nintendo were ontop of the world but once the ps1 came out and theyd give development kits to anyone that was it! bye bye nintendo.

i hope the next console (which looks amazing!!!) isnt so restrictive with who they allow to make software for em.

an ideal would be stick to standard type disks let anybody develop, so the same core games will be available like they are on sony and then the killer combo of course the exclusive mario and zelda games.

iv not had any other nintendos since the n64 and i think even today mario 64 is simply stunning.
i honestly think the next console is gona be the last if they dont adopt sonys more adult/mid teen market.

iv never been a fan of sega infact never owned a single sega product!
but i still think it was a great shame what happened to em and think they done good products, its just the last few consoles were always 1st out but by the time the competition came out the worst.

ahh the good old days of nintendo and sega wars with the old 3do trying to make a mark.
i had nes and snes, with a gameboy on the shelf, an amiga 1200 (the bigger posh one lol) playing cannon fodder. (which i now have again on my pocket pc as a snes emulator)

and then remember when nintendo got streetfighter! then street fighter 2 turbo! wow i think it might of been that that done a lot of damage to sega.

anyway someone get a message to nintendo to sort it as a lot of us will miss em

All it takes is one phonecall to yours truly

My qualifications and/or reasoning? I'm 18, exactly in the 18-25 age range that the marketing and accounting people who run the business know matter

ooooh you've missed out on some quality gaming there then! Go out and grab yourself a Megadrive, Saturn & Dreamcast and sanple some of the greatest console games ever! Gems like...

    Gunstar Heroes
    Fantasy Star IV
    Shining force 1,2 & 3
    Streets of Rage 2
    Sonic 1,2 & 3
    Golden Axe
    Gauntlet IV
    Thunderforce IV
    Panzer Dragoon Saga
    Radiant Silvergun
    Ikaruga
    Shanmue 1 & 2
    Soul Calibur
    Sega Rally
    Panzer Dragoon Zwei
    Power Stone 2

That's just a few off the top of my head and there are loads more gens too! I must say that I was more in the Sega camp if you like but I owned a SNES, an N64 at launch and currently have a Gamecube as well so I was also a big Ninty fan.

They do need a more adult image if they are to survive. The Revo looks a slick console but they do need to get far more 3rd party developers on board with some 3rd party killer apps to go with their own. The GC has only really had RE4 that fits that catagory IMO.

Yep sega had some classic games. Mostly fantasy games though, probably all the japanese developers that got on board.

Desert strike on the Mega Drive oh yes. You have to play that at least once in your lifetime.

Yes Desert, Jungle and Urban Strike were all decent games. They reminded me of the old Spectrum classics, Tornado Low Level and Cyclone especially. Now they were great games for their day!

i agree i respect sega and they had great games, but i was nintendo camp!
to see one of these companies nearly disspear is bad but for 2 is terrible!

imagine if we of said back in the mid nineties nintendo and sega will hardly exist and that boring microsoft company and that boring stereo make sony would rule!

Businesses survive or fail by the simple fact of whether they make money. In terms of games, Nintendo makes more money than the gaming arms of Sony/Microsoft. So it would take a massive massive shift in the market to put Nintendo at risk.

The N64 and GC have been percieved as flops in some eyes compared to Xbox etc, but Nintendo still make money, so even if the Revolution is a successful as these machines they will do ok.

Personally I think that revolution stands a better chance than the cube or 64 before it - but it does need the 3rd party support, and it needs it early days.

I will buy a revolution and one of the others (currently own a PS2 and a cube), though it will be the Zelda, Pikmin, Mariokart games I look forward to most.

i will be buying the xbox 360. especially as its white (all my furniture etc is too)
and if nintendo allow more 3rd party games ill defo buy the revolution.
i mean look at it! even if i just use it as a modern piece of art ;)

id love to be able to play zelda/link ;) followed by mario and then grand theft auto all on one box!

also it would be great if they released a retro game disc. all the main marios on 1 disk! mario 1 2 3 land 64 etc. i currently have all of these on emulation on my phone/pda except for mario 64 which i have on emulation on pc n is very good. but would defo buy a compelation off nintendo.

also with that retro disk set how about an adapter to fit the old controllers as an option!

this month im buying a snes just to get streetfighter 2 turbo lol

Personally I prefer the arcade version using MAME but the SNES version isn't bad I must admit.

I have actually got a JAMMA SF2 CE board stashed away somewhere too :smashin:

I have got used to playing the SF series (as well as other 2D fighters) on the DC that I just can't play it on any other console/emulator. The DC arcade stick is just too good! :)
