Hi Ive just got a QED SQART svhs to scart lead to link my dav550 to my tv. This has made the picture on dvd far better and everything was rosy. Ive tried to play a VCD and an SVCD and the picture flickers from black and white to colour and jumps a little Can anyone help here or are they not compatible with that lead, gutted if this is the case.... Cheers
Sounds like the VCD or SVCD is NTSC encoded and your player either does not support NTSC playback or your TV does not support this. What model TV have you got?
Hi mate Ive got a FQ75 Thing is, they work perfectly when I use the crap bog standard lead that came with the DAV, so its got to be something to do with the lead or how things are set up
Is the bog-standard lead S-Video as well? Your TV is NTSC compatible. Did you buy the correct QED cable. There are two versions - and both are directional. You might have bought the Scart to S-Video version instead of the other way around. Both cables look the same but just have different model numbers.
Hi mate The lead I got is AV1220, Interconnect S-Video To Scart(In) 2m. The original lead that came with the DVD Player was for the video out socket. I swapped it for the other lead and it worked fine with normal DVDs
Have you got the S-Video cable plugged in to the correct Scart Socket? Usually only one of the Scart Sockets will accept this type of signal. Try Av2 or Av3. I have also read that you sometimes need to enable NTSC for S-Video in the service menu of certin Sony TV's. Perhaps an FQ75 owner can offer you more advice. Try doing a search on this issue from the top of the page .
Ill try the lead in different Scart sockets then, worth a try ill give a search a try as well, anyone else any suggestions?
