I need to buy an amp soon, I am having my lounge redecorated, false wall being built for a plasma etc so any help offered will be most appreciated!

    My plan:-

Sky to RS box - VGA input on screen (Panny PWD6-42")
    DVD component to amp
    PS2 component to amp
    VHS (somehow) to amp
    SNES (somehow) to amp

One component lead to component input board on screen from amp

Optical lead from Sky to amp

What connection would best fill the 2 (somehow)'s?

How would I get sound to the amp from the DVD & PS2, as I understand component to be picture only?

And what amp would best suit my requirements?

I have a £300 credit note at Richer sounds, so if it is available from there, all the better!

    Cheers :smashin:

How about the Yamaha DSPAX750SE, would that feed my needs?

ok, it looks like there is 2 component inputs (DVD & PS2), analogue inputs (VHS & SNES).

i think it will upscale everything so I can run just 1 compnent lead to the screen, could someone please confirm if that is correct?

    thankyou!

VHS to amp would need a scart to composite cable.

Try using the search function or the yamaha site for amp specs to see if it upconverts.

thanks, no info on the Yamaha website, but it does upconvert to component according to a couple of dealers.

still not sure about sounds from DVD and PS2 if someone would be able to point me in the right direction.

    cheers

    As mhuk05 said

DVD to amp digital coax or optical
PS2 to amp digital optical is the best route. You can also get a PS2 to 5 RCA lead - 3 for component and 2 for stereo sound
