:lease: Any help at all for a poor novice??

I have just purchased the 37 Panny (TH37PE30) and getting the DMR E55 free. What I really want to know is should I use the DMR E55 as my main DVD player or stick to my (old but still good) Toshiba sd 220E as my main player and just use the DMR E55 as a recorder (I will also be using the tosh and/or the DMR E55 as a CD player)?? Also how do I go about setting up all of these boxes. I was thinking:

    1 SKY + to Panny = RGB
    2 SKY + to Receiver (Yamaha 430RDS) = optical
    3 DMR E55 to Panny = RGB
4 Toshiba to Panny = component
5 Toshiba to receiver = coaxial
6 terrestial ariel to the DMR E55

Would this be the way to set it up? any better way?

I really need help on this one.....go knows I am confused??

Will this set up allow me to record from SKY + to the DMR??

Sorry for all the questions but any advice would be gratefully received.

    Many thanks

If you want to record from sky+ to the DMR then you will need to hook the two together via scart ... the DMR can then playback 'through' the sky+ should you need ...

So if you have a rgb scart and component interface for the panny then as you described will be fine ...

    Thanks for the suggestion.

If I am understand (which I fully admit I may not), my set up should be:

Toshiba SD 220E to Panny = component
Toshiba SD 220E to receiver = coaxial
DMR to receiver to panny = RGB
    SKY+ to DMR = RGB
    SKY+ to receiver = optical

ie no direct hook up between the SKY+ to the panny. Is this right??

Also, shoul i continue to use the Toshiba or use the DMR as my playback machine?

    Thanx for any help

depends if you want to be recording Sky analogue/Freeview and still be watching a DVD....
SKY+>E55>AV4 scart and componet and AV4 set to Qlink is the way i set them upt (can keep tosh on RGB for playback as well)
