Hi All,

I've got a new HDTV coming on Wednesday with a home cinema system and a PS3.

I'm wondering what the best setup would be?

It would be great if someone could tell me or, better still, draw me a quick diagram.

I will have:

Samsung 42" Plasma HDTV
Surround Sound system
Freeview box
DVD player
PS3

Thanks for reading.

:)

i think you need to be more spesific on the parts in your setup, what dvd-player? does it have hdmi?
what surround reciever, does it have hdmi in and out?
things like that

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as if you're going to have 3 DVD 'players' (PS3, stand alone unit & the one built into the home cinema system) and 2 TV tuners (FreeView box & the one built into the TV). I'd start by getting rid of the stand alone DVD player and FreeView box.

I guess you can connect the PS3 to the TV with an HDMI lead, the home cinema system to the TV with an HDMI lead and the PS3 to the home cinema system with a digital optical lead. The latter will give you surround sound whilst watching blu-ray movies and playing games on the PS3. It seems as if the TV has enough HDMI inputs and the home cinema system has an optical connection.
