Hi All,

Basically, at the moment I have a Sony SBPD-350 Blu-Ray PLayer but i am looking at upgrading to a newer and better blu-ray player so could anybody please recommend the best quality blu-ray player out at the moment in terms of picture and sound quality please as i don't mind about features and connectiviites etc but instead just want to ensure that i can get a really good picture and sound quality from the player please.

I also heard that the cambridge £400 blu-ray player is a really good one so could anybody please possibly let me know if this is good value-for-money and would i notice any real improvement in the picture and sound quality please and also are there any other better performing players out there at a similar sort of price range please as i don't mind paying quite a bit of money for a player if i know that it is going to be really good quality and value for money etc.

THanks very much for reading and in advance anticipation of your help and i look forward to hopefully reading soem of your hopefully helpful and informative replies.

Cheers :)

Hi Nic and thanks for your quick reply but i was bascially just wondering if somebdoy could give me a general answer as to whether or not it is worth paying the extra money for a blu-ray player as can a better quality and more expensive such as the cambridge £400 br really give you a better picture and sound quality output or is the only reason that it is more money because it has more features and connections etc please.

THanks very much for your help.
Cheers

on blu rays no, DVDs possibly a tiny bit (but I wouldn't update from the 350). If you want to improve DVDs however look to ones with a dedicated chip like the Oppo 83 which you are talking a level up again. Nothing wrong with a 350 from Blu ray performance.

hi nicand thanks very much for your quick and helpful reply and aplogies for the delay in getting back to you and i think that i am just going to stick with my sony br for now then if i will not really notice any difference in the picture or sound quality with a new br, but with regards to dvd upscaling then would you say that there would be a big difference in terms of overall quality etc if i did buy the oppo please?

thanks for your help
