I don't own any of the two, though I have heard them both. I would definately advise you get the DSP-AX757SE. It's in a different class from the Pioneer. The Pioneer does your action movies well but isn't deft enough for anything else; I find it to be rather grating after a long listen. The Yamaha will do action movies AND every other genre of movie. It's so much more competent at everything (including music) and it just won product of the year in the surround amp/receiver category with What HiFi (though thats hardly saying much)! It is a cracking amp though!

The Yamaha doesn't have a tuner if that's important to you.

    I have the DSP 757

Excellent amp for the money, using it to drive my Wharfedale Diamond 8's and REL Q150e - Does a good job of it, both in stereo and surround.

    But yes, no tuner uncluded.
