    Hi All

I have the Toshiba SD220E and just recently it stop playing region 2 DVD's, with error not NTSC.
Couldn't change in the menu because it was missing.

I never flashed the firmware to make it multi region, however I did have the disk just in case I needed to.

So I decided I would flash the firmware in case it was corrupt, and now the player won't read anything.

Does anyone know if you can flash the firmware without using the DVD drive or a posible fix for it.

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you've knackered it. No point getting it repaired. Think of it as an excellent opportunity to upgrade to something new. Probably worth trying some sort of hard reset on it though just in case. I can't remember what a hard reset procedure on a Toshiba is though. Try a google search. Does the player still look like it works normally but won't access the drive or does it try to access the disc drive? Will it play vcds in its current state or mp3 cds?

    :)

Doesn't play VCD's, but it does try to access the drive.
I'll try the hard reset though. it May work.

Its Annoying, because Toshiba didn't want to know. It's played about 40 disks in its life max.

    Thanks for your response

    Good luck with the SD220E.

If you work out how to "reset" the player let me know.

    :)
