Ok, Im completely new to all this and am looking at buying my first plasma tv. I think, from reading around these forums it will be a Panasonic, but past that I really need some advice. (Im after a 42 by the way) I will be connecting Sky to it, a playstation2, and thats all I currently have. I would consider a surround system and new dvd player etc, but I don't currently have these, so this would need to be accounted for in purchase price if required (with the panels) etc. I want my new TV to be HD ready, and as Im not a madman for all this stuff, I want it to last quite a while. I definitely wont be looking to change it within 5years minimum. I have a total budget maxing out at around £2500, although less would definitely be preferable. What are the differences between the PWD and PHD series screens? What would I need to add to these to run what I have, and likewise to successfully run HD in the future? Is there a worthwhile difference between the 7 and 8 series screens as I seem to have read that the 7 series may be able to do HD aswell with the necessary hardware? Also how about the Viera range? As I said, Im not hugely knowledable about these things so the idea of an all-in-one package is quite appealling. Man, this is doing my head in... I will probably be buying in 2-3 months if that is of any relevance... What is the HD ready Viera range, is that the PV500? Is this the newest or are there new ones out soon? Oh, and as an absolute rule, on any of these suggestions, I cannot spend this amount of cash and have screen flicker/judder, whatever its called, when watching football. I believe that this is to do with the Hz the screen displays at but beyond that im stuck. This is important as if I had this on a screen I had spashed all my £££ on I would proably have to kill myself - Samurai style - fall on my sword! All advice and any suggested setups would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
