Hi there,
Hopefully someone can help. I have a reasonably old (approx 7 years) Panasonic viera TV, to which a BT Vision youview box and an Apple TV box are connected via HDMI. We have acquired a Sony sound at and would like to connect it to the TV. I have gotten as far as working out that the required optical connection is not compatible with my dated TV so have purchased an optical converter and an additional analogue out put cable.
I have plugged everything in and no sound comes out of the sound bar. I have tried connecting the sound bar direct to the youview box which does have an optical connection and which works fine as long as I mute the TV sound which continues simultaneously but obviously leaves the Apple TV content out of the equation.
I'm thinking I have possibly plugged the converter into the wrong place on my TV, or perhaps I need to adjust some TV settings to redirect the audio...
Anyone have any clues?
