I have a Samsung Ht-XQ100 5.1 all in one cinema system connected to the IN76 projector and when I put an HD DVD in the system, it is not playing back????

It states after a while no disk!!!

Is this samsung system a HD ready unit or not???? Can it play HD DVD's or not

Please could you advise ASAP?

It's not a HD DVD player. It is a normal DVD player with a scaler, that upscales SD -> HD and outputs over HDMI. Hence they can advertise it as HD Ready.

Sneaky eh?

....So it won't play HD DVD's then...

Are you saying than that it should play the HD DVD or NOT?

Sorry but a bit worried as I've just had the speakers put onto the wall professionally etc!!!!

Please can you advise?

My understanding is that if it is an upscaling DVD player, like noshoulders says, then it will not play HD DVD's, only standard def DVD's upscaled.

Basically, you need an HD-DVD player, such as an xbox 360 add-on or a toshiba HD-Xa1
