    Hi guys,

I need some help if possible choosing the correct LCD for my bedroom.

Its going to be used as a monitor/TV and also for my XBOX

I have just returned the medion 30" from DABS, which was great apart from no progressive scan (my xbox is chipped!) :(

Basically what i am after is something similar but with progressive scan. 30" if possible and up to about £1500

    Many thanks in advance

    chris

    I know, I am shocked!

What about the Hitachi 28LD5200 or the Sharp 'G' series?

Come on guys I need an LCD for gaming on PC and XBOX and also for a bit of TV/DVD

I have money burning a hole in my pocket!

    Please!

I'm looking at getting the medion 30" in about a months time when i move into my new place, but am also about to order a chipped xbox.

The medion apparently has progressive scan. How come it did not work with your chipped Xbox?

    cheers.

The medion does not do progressive scan through the component inputs, you just get two images side by side,

I have since bought the hitachi 28LD5200 and am V impressed so far, I prefer it to the medion

I have a Sharp LC30HV4E running progressive scan from a soft-modded PAL Xbox via the Microsoft High Definition pack.

Picture is good, but I'm not keen on the whole appearance of LCD displays - too digital-looking for my liking.

It's going back to be upgraded to a 42" Hitachi 42PD5200 plasma...

You can still play the XBOX on the medion, You just dont get progressive scan pictures, When im spending 1k on a TV i want to get the best from the equipment im using, And i was interested to see what progressive scan was all about!

So far I am very impressed with the Hitachi

I'm happy with my sharp LC30HV4E. One of the mags rated it as the LCD TV of the year 2004.

RGB do it for £1430, so you can get Richer Sounds to price beat that by 50 quid making it £1380 - £150 less than I paid a few weeks ago! It's well within your budget.

It does progressive scan via the component in. I'm using an iscan ultra which improves the picture and the tv registers it as 580p or 480p.

You can also take the speaker off and wall mount it - it's a great looker.

The bracket is £50 from RS.
