    Please can anyone help?
What's a good cheap TV... up to about a couple of hundred pounds that I can buy for my daughter who is deaf??
Obviously the quality of sound doesn't matter but a good picture, teletext with reasonable size screen to be able to see subtitles is very important.
    Regards John

    Hi John,

If I was buying a tv with a budget of £200 or less, i would probably go for a Sony 21" set, such as the KV-21CT1.

It isn't widescreen, but it does have a 16:9 mode, so dvd's can be watched at full resolution.

If you want a bigger picture or you want a widescreen set, both are available for less than £200, but in quality terms you'll be hard pressed to find something that approaches the Sony within this price range.

    Cheers,

    Bob.

John, perhaps you could look for a TV with strong bass - that way your daughter might be able to get some extra sensory feedback. Having said that, it might drive the rest of your household mad so you might need a sound-proof room!

The JVC AV28R25 has a built in sub which gives plenty of bass. Unfortunately it is just shy of £400.

The back of the AV magazines usualy list the "best" budget TVs.
