Having just received a copy of my DVD writer manual from the manufacturers, it says I need a 1.6 P4 processor to run the drive, I only have P3 1GIG processor.

There was no mention of this when I bought it, it just said requirements XP.

Does this mean I definitely can't use it? or thats what they recommend? Please help, i daren't put it in without advice!

Does it say 'recommended to have a P4 1.6 processor'?

If it says recommended specs then I would of thought it would work, just probably be very slow??

    Thanks for the reply.

    It saya "System requirements"

i was thinking that maybe the write times would be slower, I didn't think I wouldn't be able to use it!

I really don't want to blow the computer up!!

Do you know of another DVD writer that would be compatible?

    Thanks for your help
