    I hope someone can help!

We have purchased the above and have never experienced a plasma tv before so have hit a brick wall with the sound issue.

This has speakers which we have attached but although at present the tv is attached to sky plus the pictue is great but what do we connect and how do we connect it to get the sound? There is NONE.

Are the speakers just a boost from an amp or something that we also need to connect?

I hope someone can help as the instructions don't and its just so frustrating.

We have sky plus, a video, a sony dvd home cinema system and a stereo to add on if needs be. We have a few scart leads and a few of the red and white ones.

Can someone give me an idiots guide to connect these all and with what? It would be so appreciated!!

    Thanks, Noo

Bit of a shot in the dark this.....although you say you have attached the speakers to the main panel, have you also wired them in? On my plasma there are red and black terminal blocks on the speaker and close by on the panel, are yours the same and have you connected them with a piece of speaker wire? I know it's obvious, but thought it's worth a try.

Have you tried the manufacturer help line?

As Mep said, post the make and model on here, with any other info (pictures?), if anybody can help you out it's the people on this forum!

    Hi,

    Its a Bush PDP42TV004.

Yes, we've wired in the speaker wire at the back in the relevant red and black sockets. We did that first. Still nothing.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks, Noo

I suppose the post does make me sound a bimbo, but I'm not - I assure you - lol! Other half is an electrician so he's normally pretty good with such things, as am I!

We did get sound from it last night, via the new hi fi on aux2 and we incorporated sky plus. One day soon we'll add in dvd home cinema system and the video. I hope it will still be working then.

We've double checked the speakers connections and they seem fine - apart form the small problem that no sound comes out of them.

    Thanks for your help.........

    Noo :D

you have to get both video and sound to the screen, which means using either a fully wired scart which carries both, else you need to use the red/white stereo cables between your kit and the screen...(HDMI also carries video and sound by the way)

This seems to be a mind boggler

What connection are you using between sky and the TV? If SCART, perhaps the wiring is bad - try seperate video/audio connetions. If you aren't using scart, try it.

You probably have a few speaker connections : some output and some input. Have you ensured that your speakers are connected to the output plugs?

Some televisions have a menu setting to activate external speakers. Explore the sound section of your menu to see if this exists.

Some TVs have a hard switch on the casing of the TV to activate internal or external speakers. Does yours have this?

Does your TV have internal speakers? If so, unplug the external ones and see if you get sound out of the internal.

Do you have an instruction manual? I know it seems silly, but read it. it may contain useful information - lol.

    Good luck :suicide:
