Have a chance to sell my 3805 and get the 4802 for the same price. Is it worth the upgrade,or is it an upgrade?

Is it the 4802 or 4802R? The R usually denotes a Refurbished model but in the case of the 4802 it's actually an upgraded version of the 4802 but with THX Ultra2, Audio Delay etc.

Given the choice, I'd take the 4802R, although you'll lose out on Dolby PLIIx if that's important to you.

4802R is the better Receiver. Amplification is much better, Pre-Amp is better. Just loses out on a couple of features like PLIIx, Room EQ etc.

4802 is the US version of the A11SR. Should be able to pick one up for around 400-500 quid depending on it's condition.
