right... i know there are many threads on this topic about linking the ps3 with an optical cable, but im still finding it very confusing! sorry!

ive got my ps3 connected to my hdtv monitor via a HDMI cable, and an optical cable is connected to my stereo from my ps3. But the problem is, there is clear and great sound when in the menu, but when i go into a game there is no sound! omg its so frustrating, rapidly losing patience with a ps3 :(

ive changed the settings so that audio is played out thru optical... can anyone help please??

Have you got the sound output as 'bitstream' when your reciever will not accept it ??
