PlayStation 2 (slim one) as DVD player

    Can someone please tell me how good the new Slim Playstation 2's are as DVD players.

    Can they read DVD R's etc, is the picture and sound as good as a budget DVD player.

    I want a tiny DVD player for the bedroom and they dont come much smaller than these, I just dont want it to be crap, and not play any of my recorded stuff on DVDR's.

    Thanks for any help.

    The playback is a bit like your forum name. Yes they read dvd-r's and the pic/sound is as good as a budget dvd player but the thing to remember is a budget costs £30 whereas a ps2 is £104

    There's a thread in the dvd player forum about a dvd player from Asda that is supposed to be small+cheap.

    on the very first ps2s there was a problem with lip sinc. I am not sure it this has been sorted out for the newere models. I personally would buy a buget DVD player rather than use the ps2, but that is just me :D
