Can someone please tell me how good the new Slim Playstation 2's are as DVD players.

Can they read DVD R's etc, is the picture and sound as good as a budget DVD player.

I want a tiny DVD player for the bedroom and they dont come much smaller than these, I just dont want it to be crap, and not play any of my recorded stuff on DVDR's.

    Thanks for any help.

The playback is a bit like your forum name. Yes they read dvd-r's and the pic/sound is as good as a budget dvd player but the thing to remember is a budget costs £30 whereas a ps2 is £104

There's a thread in the dvd player forum about a dvd player from Asda that is supposed to be small+cheap.

on the very first ps2s there was a problem with lip sinc. I am not sure it this has been sorted out for the newere models. I personally would buy a buget DVD player rather than use the ps2, but that is just me :D
